Government and the Signature Africa Venture Ltd. company, a subsidiary of a Dubai-based investment company, Signature Growth Capital Partners, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for feasibility studies for the implementation of renewable energy projects on 23rd December 2014 in Yaoundé.
According to our sources, these projects to be carried out on the BOT (Built Operate Transfer) model will concern the development of rural electrification, the construction of power plants to biomass, solar power plants and mini-hydropower development in some regions of the country. Feasibility studies, subject of the MoU with the Government of Cameroon, said Vikas Bhatnagar, responsible for signing Africa Venture Ltd., will begin from January 2015 onwards.
This day, Signature Growth Capital Partners claims the structuring, co-investment and joint management of "more than $ 1.5 billion (about 750 billion CFA francs) investment in projects with institutions in the Middle East". Its Signature Africa Venture Ltd. subsidiary, specially dedicated to investment in Africa, is active in the sectors of mining, energy, real estate and agriculture.
