He was at the Ministry of External Relations on June 24, 2016, where he held discussions with Minister Lejeune Mbella Mbella on the campaign strategy.

Cameroonian born, Hope Sona Ebai, has presented his candidature for the post of Executive Director of International Cocoa Organisation.

He made the disclosure after a courtesy call to the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, on Friday June 24, 2016, during which strategies for his campaign were discussed.

"I came to thank the government through the Minister of External Relations for supporting my candidature to the position of Executive Director of ICCO and to propose a campaign strategy for such a position", he told reporters.

The campaign, he said, will now get underway after a Board meeting of the ICCO that held in the Dominican Republic where three candidates were retained to vie for the post.

It will entail soliciting the support of friendly countries through their diplomatic missions here in Cameroon as well as Cameroon's diplomatic missions in strategic countries to ensure a successful campaign in September, when the election holds.

Hope Sona Ebai holds that the world cocoa economy will focus on Cameroon which is the 4th or sometimes 5th cocoa producer if he is elected to the position.

At a time Cameroon's cocoa sector is embarking on rehabilitation, his elections, he noted, would draw attention from big producers like Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia to other countries.

It would also attract technology that would help in the rehabilitation of Cameroon cocoa sector.
