A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday began its bi-annual review of the economic and financial situation in Cameroon, sources told APA.

Led by Mario Zamaroczy, the IMF experts must review with the Cameroonian authorities the macro-economic performances of the Central-African country against the backdrop of global economic growth slowdown and the fall of the price of the barrel of oil, which Cameroon produces.

The international financial institution mission will also assess the progress of the structuring projects, the “sustainability” of the foreign debt and the public-private partnership accords for the harmonious and sustained development of the country.

Unlike the earlier missions, the exchanges this time are likely to be appeased as Cameroon which remained inflexible on the requirements on the subvention of fuel prices, accepted in early July the demands of the IMF.
