Real estate investment is a growing business in Cameroon with substandard building material gaining grounds. Houses have crumbled with some resulting in human casualties due to the use of low quality material.

It is against this backdrop that the General Manager of Africa Technology Transfer and Management, ATTM, Jean Francois Bassong, underlined the need for beautiful and durable houses in Cameroon.

During the press conference on the theme: “Well Constructed Art,” the ATTM boss and his Italian partners presented a cross section of their works and products through a PowerPoint projection.

Among the products is Abertini windows made with seven different wood types, aluminium and bronze and comprising 25 ways of opening.

Litho-Project, which is another partner, deals in the production of natural stones like marbles; Ratti Pierluigi constructs gardens, parks, industrial and commercial zones while Officine gives solutions to humidity problems.

ATTM, Jean Bassong said, is an opportunity for construction firms to come under one canopy and buy quality products directly from Italy.

He revealed that after five years of cooperation ties with the Italian building concept, trained Cameroonians will take the relay in producing the aforementioned products.

He noted that it is not how much money one gains from the purchase that matters but the durability of the house.
