The government of Cameroon and that of the Republic of Italy have signed a convention estimated at FCFA 359 billion for 1000 low cost houses to be constructed in Yaoundé and its environs.
The convention was signed this Thursday 17 March 2016 at the Hilton Hotel during a Cameroon-Italy Business Forum taking part in the sidelines of the four-day working visit of the Italian President to Cameroon.
The Minister of State of Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, Jacqueline Koung a Basike and that of Housing and Urban Development, Jean Claude Mbwentchou signed for the government of Cameroon while Michel Pizzarotti who conducted the Italian delegation signed for Italy.
The convention is one of the first to be signed with the framework of the visit of the Italian President to Cameroon.
According to the official programme of the four day visit many more agreements are expected when the Italian business delegation accompanying President Sergio Mattarella will meet with Cameroonian business persons.
