The first French Beer, Kronenbourg, also known as 1664, celebrated its 350th anniversary last Friday, January 2 as loyal consumers had their fair share of the celebrations.

The crossroads mobile Essos in Yaoundé indulged in the excitement that night. A partner of the brand, The Regal Fast Food which is a few meters away hosted the occasion.

It looked like a TV reality programme as everything was captured on cameras installed strategically at the place. These placements were done via the efforts of the dynamics Vision 4 team supervised by P Byron.

The colourful decorations including a large one posted at the entrance of Fast Food with over a dozen more inside, added to the already warm evening.

Tables were decorated with bottles and cans of Kronenbourg. The menu available to guests for the night included; bean fritters + porridge, rice, chicken, potato chips, fried plantains, just to mention a few.

In the interlude, a touch of Moustik Charismatik’s humour was enjoyed by all. He had the public cracking up with laughter.

Each consumer finally left with a small package, as a sign of recognition from the brand. According to the Regional Director, Ernest Kegne, “the brand will not fail to reiterate its desire to see even more of this year 2015 not without its Best Wishes”.

Kronenbourg 1664 was introduced in Cameroon between late 2009 and early 2010. They are available in supermarkets and just a few retail shops. The brand gained its grounds through the initiative of its Regional Director Central- Southeast, to win over the national territory by introducing the product in Nightclubs, bars and snacks. By far, it has been a successful strategy, as evidenced by the number of consumers growing.

Also, there are several flavors for different degrees of alcohol. The brand has : the legendary blue which is a Kronenbourg without alcohol, Kronenbourg red has 4.2% alcohol, slightly fruity Kronenbourg White which is low in calories and do not have the usual smell of alcohol (recommended for those who hate having a beer breath) and black Kronenbourg has 7.2 % alcohol (the highest), which is in the 50 Cl cans.
