In line with President Paul Biya's vision of Cameroon becoming an emerging nation by the year 2035, the Life Impact Network and the Excellence Network will as from the 11 to 13 of October, 2012, organise a grand economic event termed the Kingdom Marketplace Transformation (KIMAPLAT) Forum 2012. This was the main objective of a press conference organised recently in Limbe to brief journalists on the upcoming economic event.
According to one of the promoters, Barrister Maurice Nguemako, the forum will have as objectives: creating a network of foreign businessmen and those of Cameroon, linking businesses to services and opportunities for the economic development of Cameroon, training professionals in various areas of business including: insurance, the media, business management and banking, encouraging exchanges of international progress between Cameroonians and foreign partners and lastly, facilitating business creation and investment opportunities for business people. During the forum, participants will have a round table conference during which they will be taught practical lessons on how to draw up business plans, and equally on how to sustain a business.
On modalities that will be required for participation, Pastor Fidelis Mbeng, another promoter, said the grandiose nature of the event will permit access only to entrepreneurs and students carrying out business studies and who in the same way aspire to own businesses in future. He noted that during the forum, entrepreneurs will pay a sum of FCFA 30,000 while students involved in business studies will pay FCFA 15,000 as participation fee which will permit them access to the forum ground. This year's edition of the forum, celebrated under the theme "Entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation for the 21st century" has as a slogan, "Passing the torch to a new generation."
