Littoral Fish Fair: Modern tools at the disposal of fishermen

Fishermen in the Littoral Region will in the days ahead receive canoes, fishing nets and other equipment to improve on their working conditions.

This information was recently made public by the Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Forest of Cameroon (CAFEF), Julbert Konango during the second edition of the Littoral Fish Fair.

The Fish Fair is a project under CAFEF that was started by an integrated community development programme of the Nyong Sanaga and Yoyo Basin (NYSAYO).

The Programme Coordinator, Emmanuel Ndgishe notes that the fair will serve in showcasing the prowess of local fishermen.

He further mentioned that the fish being exposed will be sold at moderate prices, since the protein is highly consumed by low income earners.
