MINPOSTEL reiterates unidentified SIMs will be deactivated

On a working visit to Douala on June 28, 2016, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications issued a final warning to unidentified subscribers.

There will not be a repeat session for subscribers of mobile telephony unidentified on June 30, 2016. Their telephone numbers are simply going to be disabled.

This is the message that the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL) wanted to give. Minette Libom Li Lekeng was in Douala on Tuesday as part of the campaign to identify subscribers of mobile phones launched by operators, at the request of the Government.

The speech of the MINPOSTEL was thus unequivocal: “This is a citizen’s duty to be identified. It happens everywhere, why should it be different in Cameroon? I therefore reiterate that beyond June 30, 2016, any unidentified mobile phone user will be systematically turned off from the network, “she warned.

To judge the work on the field, Minette Libom Li Lekeng toured different operators. La Nouvelle Expression (LNE) of June 29 she went “in the general direction of MTN Cameroon, Orange, Nexttel, and CAMTEL. Not without making a stop in the various technical installations of these operators. ”

After Douala, the MINPOSTEL will travel to Yaounde for the same exercise.
