Celebrations are in order for telecom giants MTN as their active subscribers top the 10 million mark.

With this increase in its customer base, MTN consolidated its position as market leaders in telecommunications.

In terms of market share, MTN has 46 per cent, or in easier terms, six out of ten Cameroonians who have a mobile phone use MTN.

The milestone was announced in a statement last week which revealed the 10 millionth subscriber connected to the network at Ndogbong in Douala, on June 17.

In a letter, O. Karl Toriola, the CEO of MTN Cameroon, thanked the 10 million subscribers for the confidence placed in the company.

He also mentioned their commitment to always listen to society and provide the best customer experience possible that they are entitled to expect from a leading operator and innovative telecommunications.

The impressive figures currently held by MTN arise from several tariff and service innovations undertaken by the company since the beginning of 2014.
