The Minister of Agriculture and rural development (Minader), Essimi Menye on Thursday visited the specialised centre for research on oil palm in Dibamba in the Littoral, and that of Ekona in the Southwest, specializing in vitro-plants.
In Dibamba, Minader, accompanied by the prefect Fritz Dikosso Seme and the sub-prefect of Dizangue, Jean-Jacques Nsang, noted the production capacity of pre-germees of palm nuts of the research centre and have thus brought assistance to the farmers.
Minader will support the various stages in production prior to the provision of seedlings to farmers. 5 million F approximately will be made available to producers in the year 2015.
At Ekona, the researchers at the centre who specialized in the production of vitro-plants faced some problems including disease that attacked the plants. To assist them, the Minader have injected nearly one billion F into the production of vitro-plants.
After the research centres, Essimi Menye continued his quest for funds towards Telefood planned December 11. He visited four businesses that promised donations for agricultural projects funded by FAO.
