Deputy Chief of Mission Gregory D. Thome granted an exclusive interview to Equinoxe Radio and Television in Douala on November 3, 2014. The interview covered topics ranging from U.S. investments, the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), and Cameroon’s business climate.

Mr. Thome reiterated the United States’ commitment to further facilitate trade and commercial relations between our countries, which is an important element of our diplomatic functions.

He added: “The U.S. Africa Leaders Summit was vital in helping awaken the awareness of U.S. corporations to the substantial, mutual business opportunities in the region. Since the summit, Cameroon has emerged as a country open for business and the U.S. Embassy seeks to help facilitate growing trade relationships.”

Mr. Thome also noted that Cameroon is hosting in December this year a tri annual edition of premiere international trade and commercial events called PROMOTE.

“The U.S. Embassy is proud to be a major participant by sponsoring an American Pavilion and American Day with over a dozen U.S. companies set to showcase products and services in concert with the ‘American Ingenuity’ theme,’” he concluded.
