A new cable network called the Nigeria for Cameroon submarine cable network has been installed in Kribi. The cable network was installed by the Minister of Post and Telecommunication Jean Pierre Biyiti Bi Essam during his five-day working visit to Kribi.
The installation ceremony took place at Bipindi the Ocean Division of the South Region where the Minister also inspected works on the telecom structures that was under construction.
The fiber optic cable which has the capacity of transmitting communication signals from Cameroon to Lagos in Nigeria has come along to ease communication network between the people of Cameroon and Nigeria.
The submarine cable network is the second of its kind and is christened the North Atlantic Coast With its root in Limbe.
Meanwhile the first is called the South Atlantic Cable based in Bepanda- Douala.
