In a statement signed by its Executive Director Elisabeth Medou Badang ,the mobile phone company Orange Cameroon has apologized to consumers for the poor quality of network they are experiencing for several weeks.
Elisabeth Medou Badang justifies these inconveniences with ongoing work done on the network.
But beyond this technical work, some source at Orange indicates that several issues also contribute to the disruption of service quality.
Of these issues, the energy deficit in the country often results in a temporary interruption of service in some areas, until emergency generators of the company supply energy. There is also the lack of roads delaying field teams during operation for troubleshooting or maintenance.
"During the rainy season, as is the case now, when “mayos” overflows and cover the trails in the area of the Far North, there is no way to pass. It takes a wide detour of several hours to reach the telecom sites," says our source.
