The innovation is of an American firm, Quality Habitat Corporation, already in Cameroon.

Business display at the ongoing 5th edition of Promote in Yaounde has a lot both for the eyes, mouth and the mind. Those willing to construct houses at short notices are filling past one of the 28 stands of the American firms present at the show to learn of the latest innovation.

“We, Quality Habitat Corporation, are constructing houses through Structural Insulated Panel (SIP panels). This is not a new technology but an innovative one which is very well known in the US and Europe. We have a plant in Douala at the Bassa Industrial Zone where we are producing these panels.

In addition to producing panels and other building materials such as the form which we are using to produce our panels, we are also creating projects and building houses,” the Executive Director of Quality Habitat Corporation Cameroon, Soppo B. Ngalle, told Cameroon Tribune at the exhibition village on Monday December 8.

Pictures of what the innovation has done in the country thus far are visible in the stands as if to ascertain to visitors that it is something feasible. “That is why you can see in our stand projects like, “Garden Community One” which is our first project in Cameroon.

The concept is to build houses with everything inside. That is why we have a community centre, a lake, and playgrounds for children and we also have our equipment which we are putting into the houses such as bathrooms and kitchen sets, windows and doors many of which come from the US,” the Executive Director added.

Promote, she said, has given them the opportunity to showcase the “quality because this is very important quality material for quality end product.” She said the firm has from production of building materials to houses. “So far, visitors are very interested in the concept because many of them did not know that such corporations exist here in Cameroon,” she noted.

Mrs Soppo B. Ngalle disclosed that their ideology is to build dreams of the future today. “We make your hope become expectation and your expectation a reality,” she said.
