As part of the renewal of its truck fleet, through the purchase of 200 new vehicles, the company Hygiène et Salubrité du Cameroun (Hysacam) will benefit from a bank guarantee of FCfa 9.8 billion (15 million Euros) from Proparco, the subsidiary of the French Development Agency (AFD) specialised in private sector financing.
The news was reported on the website of this company, which manages waste collection contracts in several Cameroonian and African cities. To achieve this, we officially learned, “Proparco, during August 2016, carried out an environmental and social assessment of Hysacam’s activities by analysing the collection and storage of solid household waste on four cities covered by Hysacam. These are Yaoundé, Douala, Bertoua and Edéa”.
We can recall that in this recently past September, Proparco had already announced its commitment in investing 10 million Euros (FCfa 6.5 billion) in equity in the Cameroonian group Activa Assurances, to support its development in sub-Saharan Africa.
Established in the Cameroonian economic capital for over 10 years, Proparco interacts with the private sector through a wide range of sectors such as energy, telecoms, food industry or finance. This institution claims a portfolio of over 145 million Euros (FCfa 95 billion) in Central Africa, including FCfa 68 billion (103 million Euros) in Cameroon.
