The fifth series of Conferences for Focal Points of the National Road Fund started yesterday, July 13, 2016, at the Star Building.
Road experts and National Road Fund focal points from several ministries have been urged to examine recurrent predicaments marring road infrastructure in the country and make pertinent recommendations to enable government cast solutions.
While opening the fifth series of Conferences for Focal Points of the National Road Fund yesterday, July 13, 2016, at the Star Building in Yaounde, the Deputy Secretary General in the Prime Minister’s Office, Pascal Nguihe Kante, said particular attention should be paid to problems such as the concept of “lowest bidder” in public contracts.
This, he explained, which continues to cause huge problems because of diverse interpretations.
Other quagmire cases to be discussed during the conferences to be held till August 5, 2016, include the absence of repressive provisions in the Public Contracts Code, amongst others.
While relaying congratulations from the Chairman of the National Road Fund, Prime Minister Philemon Yang, for regulatory texts inspired from previous work by the road experts, Nguihe Kante encouraged them to pursue the drafting of more regulatory texts such as the manual on the maturity of projects.
