Swiss investors discuss investment with MINEPAT

Swiss investors have been in discussion with officials and private individuals since Thursday in Yaounde. The delegation of representatives of SMEs and SMIs established in Switzerland officially began professional visit with a meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of economy, planning and regional development (MINEPAT), Gilbert Didier Edoa.

At the headquarters of this Ministry, the first exchanges incurred by both parties helped exposed the attractions of the Swiss entrepreneurs. From a dozen of companies of various sizes, customers interested in fields as diverse as finance, electronic equipment, mining, metal constructions, communication and energy.

Arborescence Cap, is particularly interested in the production of renewable energy thus discussed investment funding and the signing of a memorandum of understanding with local partners. Surveys are underway with regional authorities at Ngaoundéré, where the project will be done. According to the Ambassador of Switzerland in Cameroon, yesterday was special in the evolution of economic relations between his country and Cameroon.

Before the meeting took place on Friday evening at MINEPAT, both parties had already rated brakes that may arise in their activities. EMA Invested, the Swiss Foundation that offers economic support in developing countries to access capital, technology, markets and the international media, under official control was mentioned by the meeting facilitator who presented to MINEPAT, folders that have been thwarted by difficulties in collaboration.

According to Yasmine Bahri Domon, President of Ema Invest, the custom of Swiss investors is to start slowly. "But once initiated, they maintain strong and lasting relationships", she observed. It hoped that the three days of work of his delegation lead to contracts or joint ventures.
