The general manager of the Port of Douala (PAD) revealed this information to his colleagues and other delegates.

On December 2, 2014, from 18 hours to 22 hours in the conference room housed on the sixth floor of the CSA headquarters building in Douala, Emmanuel Etoundi Oyono explained that the company he manages may not be able to finance the dredging of the channel and salaries for December 2014.

The reason he gave is that the tax authorities have sealed the accounts of PAD as the company is said to have arrears amounting to 13 billion FCFA, observes the DG who took office in 2012.

He said 13 billion is being demanded and they have to pay 5 billion FCFA to CSA officials as their premiums. Besides, he said, since taking office, he does not remember having tax debts.

Emmanuel Etoundi Oyono threatened to file a complaint against the tax authorities.
