The newly designated Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Cameroon, His Excellency Husnu Murat Ulku, has stated that his country will increase economic cooperation with Cameroon.

The Turkish diplomat spoke to Cameroon Tribune on November 11, 2015 in Yaounde, shortly after he met with the Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum.

The over 60-minute audience presented an opportunity for both officials to review the state of bilateral relations between both countries which ambassador Murat Ulku described as excellent. He said the challenge now is for both governments to translate the close dialogue into concrete actions. While rejoicing that Cameroon and Turkey are on the same wave-length, Murat Ulku said “We appreciate Cameroon’s vision and approach to economic progress.

There are so many plans and objectives set by Cameroon and as you know, Turkey has also known its own economic success. So, we will like to contribute to this process. Economic and commercial issues seem to be conducive avenues to follow”.

The Turkish diplomat who is six weeks old in Cameroon and his host also discussed the terrorism threats and the humanitarian crisis in the Far North region stating that Turkey and Cameroon will increase solidarity given that terrorism is a common denominator to both countries.
