Viettel Cmr to launch its activities, September 18

This assurance was given by the Director-general of ART, Jean Louis Beh Mengue, who on August 26, made a visit to the premises of the regional delegation of Viettel Cameroon to the Centre in Yaounde. "I am confident to affirm to all that, the company is ready and the official date is September 18." I can even say that we could have some surprises as it is even possible to start before September 18," revealed Jean Louis Beh Mengué.

Indeed, Viettel, which should finally operate under the brand Nexttel, despite the reluctance of the Cameroonian partners; will be ready for the opening of its network from September 5, 2014, i.e. two weeks before the official date announced by the operator.

At present, company technicians are simply working on network optimization, for a better quality of service from the start of activities. According to company officials, interconnection contracts have already been signed with the two other mobile operators MTN and Orange Cameroon.

Only the contract for interconnection with Camtel, the public operator of telephony in Cameroon, and Manager of all telecoms infrastructure, will be signed "this week, with the negotiations having been sealed off.
