Considering that funding for the acquisition of homes in the "Cité des Cinquantenaires" Housing Estate, Yaounde, was awarded to Crédit Foncier du Cameroun, CFC, final details were worked out between CFC and MG Constructions in Douala over the week-end.

The ultramodern, low-cost housing estate with 1,000 flats, to be constructed in Vallée Djoungolo, Hippodrome neighbourhood of Yaounde, will be offered to Cameroonians.

Under the watchful eyes of the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Jean Claude Mbwentchou, Crédit Foncier du Cameroun over the week-end in Douala signed a deal with MG Constructions on the terms of acquiring the homes. Jean Paul Missi signed for CFC, while Emmanuel Atangana signed on behalf of MG Constructions.

Those wishing to acquire any number of apartments without adequate funds will obtain assistance from Crédit Foncier du Cameroun. Meanwhile, MG Constructions, which is carrying out construction, will direct all those willing to acquire apartments to Crédit Foncier.

"Cite des Cinquantenaires" was conceived, designed and proposed to government by renowned Cameroonian architect, Ph. Bissek of Cabinet Bissek, Yaounde. He will follow up the three projects to ensure that technicians reproduce the model.

The three "Cité des Cinquantenaires" projects are in Vallée Djoungolo, Yaounde, the former "Cité des Douanes" in Bonapriso, Douala and the "Nouvelle Cité des Douanes" at New Bell, TSF, Douala. The first phase of the project, whose construction kicks off in October this year, was launched in Douala on May 27, 2016.
