A woman suspected of poisoning her husband to death has been taken back to the murder scene to carry out a reconstruction of events.
Françoise N, 46, accused of killing 53-year-old Prosper N, a Spanish teacher, was returned to the health centre in Sanga Mboko near Mbanga Pongo, where relatives and neighbours say the victim’s brother made the gruesome discovery.
The suspect who is a trained nurse was taken to the scene of the crime, where the couple resided by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday.
Allegedly, when the deceased’s brother visited the couple's home, on June 8, Françoise was nowhere to be found and it was their children that told him “mommy said to tell you dad is sleeping.”
Prosper’s body was found in the couples bedroom, lying on the bed covered in dried blood from head to torso, indicating he had been smashed over the head with a blunt object. It is presumed the couple’s relationship had been rocky for some time.
Regarding the circumstances of the death, according to the family of the deceased, the alleged killer had first made a cup of tea for her husband laced with a powerful pesticide found in fish.
When she saw he was not dying fast enough she injected him with another lethal substance which finally knocked him out.
According to police, the woman initially denied the facts as a whole and later consented that it was an unfortunate accident.
