Two robbers have been arrested for stealing spare parts of a heavy duty vehicle and two vehicles.
Official report states that, the forces of the Mobile Intervention Unit at Bonanjo stopped a taxi with the number plate: Lt 114 EK transporting spare parts around the Yassa neighbourhood early in the morning during their checks.
Taxi driver Wilson D., was stopped and asked where he was conveying the spare parts. The taxi driver could not show receipt to prove ownership of the spare parts. In an attempt to escape, the police opened fire, while pursuing them and managed to arrest two suspects – Samuel M. and Mustapha A., while the said taxi driver escaped.
Items worth 80 million were however recovered: a pickup vehicle owned by, Société Forestière du Cameroun enterprise, and a truck loaded with spare parts, that had been stolen by the burglars were recovered.
