Eugene Kezoh, 25, of Mondoni in Tiko Sub-division, sliced off his elder brother, Ernest Kezoh, 34, to death after the two engaged in a heated argument that led to a machete fight.

The chilling incident occurred in the Palm Oil rich village of Mondoni, on Saturday, June 4.

According to Cyprian Kezoh, eldest son of the Kezoh family and eyewitness to the incident, Eugene and Ernest got involved in a bitter argument over who will be in control of their family Cocoa farm. After Ernest argued that Eugene has over exploited the farm in the past, he claimed it was his turn.

“We tried to broker peace between both of them but Ernest was bent on having the entire farm for himself,” said Cyprian, adding that “Ernest was the first to pick a weapon. He grabbed a sharp machete and an iron rod and used them to smash Eugene. He even cut my father badly when he tried to prevent him from cutting Eugene.”

Eugene successfully seized the cutlass from Ernest and went straight for the neck where he slit his throat. He cut several other parts of Ernest’s body.

Cyprian said he cried for help when he saw Ernest bleeding profusely.

An irate population immediately rushed to the scene and took the entire family to the village square were Eugene received the beatings of his life time.

However, security forces managed to seize him from the mob and placed in custody at the Tiko gendarmerie brigade alongside his father and the other brother.

Meantime, the chief of Mondoni village, Richard Kombe Ndike, expressed shock at the incident, observing that the Kezoh family brought abomination to the village.
