Buea Police Nab Two Robbery Suspects

They confessed to have masterminded six robbery attacks since January 2014 in Buea.

Nkwelle Kingsley Elime (26 years old) and John Fuabo Nufor, 27, are gnashing their teeth behind bars at the Buea Central Police station after elements of the Buea Judicial Police under the command of Senior Superintendent of Police Ngomedje Jules apprehended them last week.

The duo, are said to be members of the same gang that has been terrorizing Buea denizens recently involving in six different robbery attacks in different vicinities of the town since January 2014.

One of the hoodlums, whose only name CT got as Manase is still at large while the search to apprehend him continues. The bandits according to the Buea Judicial Police boss have specialized in day-time robbery with five of the six attacks in Bakweri town, Federal Quarter, Malingo Street, Street two and Mutengene carried out in broad day. The thieves in their operations carry away laptops, internet keys, cellphones, musical sets, money and other household equipments.

According to the Senior Superintendent of Police Ngomedje Jules, the bandits operate with locally fabricated guns. He said when the police stormed the residence of John Fuabo Nufor allias "Boy Njari", they discovered five cartridges, two locally fabricated guns, a nail bar amongst other weapons. The two armed bandits were shot on their legs as they attempt to escape from the Police dragnet.

The Commissioner of the Buea Judicial Police told CT that they are bent on maintaining security in the town of Buea especially as all eyes are now on Buea as the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Reunification of Cameroon is imminent. He promised hell to unscrupulous individuals who want to undermine the efforts of the Police in maintaining law and order within the municipality and its environs.
