Some thugs took away the tidy sum of 20 million CFA francs during a robbery perpetrated on the night of January 8 at the headquarters of the Littoral regional agency of the Crédit Foncier du Cameroun (CFC), located in the district of Douala Bonanjo.

“The outlaws were using a ladder and broke into the office at the rear of the building, before landing on the first floor where the safe was found, the content officially estimated at 20 million CFA was swept away by them," reported the national radio, CRTV, during the 8:00 AM news yesterday.

The building was guarded by a security company with two agents expected to guard the premises that night were arrested by elements of the police and are currently undergoing interrogation on the premises of the judicial police of the Littoral, sources informed.

According to a source close to the investigation, police also suspected an internal complicity. Including one of the cashiers, of which the key was found at the scene. The latter is also under arrest, while the criminals have not yet been, said the source.

The Crédit Foncier is the secular arm of the State of Cameroon in the promotion of habitat.

As such, its corporate purpose is to provide financial support and expertise to the realization of any project to promote social housing and real estate in general.

It is responsible for collecting and redistributing the funds necessary for the implementation of the housing policy. Also, managing all banking, financial and real estate transactions relating directly or indirectly.
