Ministers in charge of Telecommunications in the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) have adopted a plan of action to fight cyber criminality and cyber terrorism in the sub region.
The blueprint was adopted in Yaounde over the weekend at the end of a meeting of telecommunication experts from the sub region.
The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Jean Pierre Biyiti Bi Essam presided over the meeting on behalf of Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang.
During the meeting, he exhorted the Ministers to fight the vices of cyber criminality and cyber terrorism which are causing untold economic, financial and social hardship in the region.
Amongst the many proposals, a digital forensic expert explained that it is necessary to stop the publication of bloody videos online. These videos are especially being posted by the Boko Haram sect for online propaganda and recruitment of youths.
