This was during the second hearing on the case opened at the Douala Military Court on Monday.

Five military officers alongside seven civilians accused of part taking in the armed robbery of Ecobank Bonaberi in Douala, about three years were brought before the examining Magistrate at the Douala Military Court on Monday January 22. Represented by their lawyers, they were accused of armed robbery, looting and the killing of innocent civilians in the course and after the operation.

Among the lawyer was Barrister Ngwayi Gideon representing one of the military officers, and Barrister Kuwong Patricia advocating for the driver accused of transporting the assailants. Both lawyers affirmed their clients have been wrongly accused and are determined to sustain their stance with concrete evidences. Meanwhile, the family members of one of the victims during the assault, an adult man who was killed by a stray bullet, were equally present, demanding compensation for the loss.

At press time, the case was adjourned to Ferbuary 26, in order for the different parties to further constitute their files.
