The residents of the crime-prone Kosala neighbourhood of Kumba have been left in total panic following the murder of one Maurice Tankeu by armed robbers in the early hours of September 10, 2013.

Reports say Maurice Tankeu, a motor mechanic by profession, heard his neighbour screaming for help when he was attacked by armed bandits and jumped out of his house to assist his neighbour. Upon his arrival at that door, one of the armed bandits, for fear of being identified, removed a double-edged sword and stabbed him directly on his throat.

He fell on the spot and bled profusely. Before the population arrived the scene, the men of the underworld had disappeared into thin air, leaving late Maurice Tankeu lying in a pool of blood. Tankeu gave up the ghost on the way while he was rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, the forces of law and order have launched a manhunt to track down the culprits.
