A man Richard Tabu in Bafia around Munyenge in Muyuka Sub-Division is undergoing treatments after an attack in his house by alleged bandits. They left him wounded with a bullet in his skull and close to his eye while his pregnant wife was shot dead.

According to an account from Tabu's niece, Juliet Tambo, he was attacked in the night of October 26 while they were asleep. But when Tabu heard gun shots on his door, he went out to confront the culprits. The latter shot at him and his wife and left the scene.

Although the Muyuka police have opened investigations, the population of Bafia holds that Tabu had a score to settle with the men of a "secret society" to which he belongs. Juliet told Cameroon Tribune that her uncle was married to a Late Marie from Bassa, Douala who was unable to bring forth children. And her uncle got involved in an extra-marital affair that brought in two children. The issue left Marie so depressed until she died. Shortly after Marie's burial, the niece said, Tabu brought into the house his concubine, Mimi, who also met with death that fateful night of 26 October.

She said the Divisional Officer for Muyuka visited the scene before the remains of Mimi was taken to the mortuary. Tabu was taken to the Mount Mary Hospital in Buea. But the bullet could not be extracted from his brain. So, he has resorted to traditional treatment.
