The Chinese community in Douala, Cameroon, still remain in shock following the dead of one of theirs, 34 year old Weh Wah Wih, after being shot several times by some unidentified gunmen, Sunday, June 12, 2016.

The Chinese businessman with residence in Akwa, Douala, is said to have been attacked by the gun men while returning from a gym around Rue de la Joie. The gunmen who were on a motorbike, first rained shots on him, but the athletic Chinese fought his way into a nearby Chinese restaurant where he sought for refuge.

The heavily armed men forced their way into the restaurant and shot Wih a few more times leaving him unconscious before making an escape. On their departure, the armed men also shot the security guard.

Before the forces of Law and Order could make their way to the scene, the armed men had left. The seriously injured Chinese man and the restaurant security guard were both rushed to the hospital.

However, the Chinese gave up the ghost shortly before arriving the hospital. The security guard is still alive, though in a critical state.

The situation broke loose the Chinese community in Douala who trooped the scene in their numbers. The angry looking Asians rained down words in their language as if to avenge the dead of their compatriot.

The SDO of Wouri, Nacere Paul Bea, who arrived the scene flanked by some top security officials in the division, pleaded for calm with the Chinese. He promised to get the culprits to book.

Meantime, reports say two suspects have been arrested by security officials. They are presently being interrogated in Bonanjo.
