Police Arrests Buea Rape Suspect

Tebok Clovis Djaga allegedly raped a 21-year old lady on August 10 in a banana plantation near Muea.

Saturday, August 10, 2013 was an ill-fated day for a lady aged 21 whose name CT got as Henrietta. She boarded a car from Mile 14 Dibanda to alight at Mile 16 Bolifamba. The Toyota car without any number plate was driven by Tebok Clovis Djaga. They were just the two of them in the vehicle.

When Henrietta got to her destination, she told the driver to alight her but Clovis the driver paid no attention to her. Henrietta started yelling to attract the public's attention. The driver responded by increasing the volume of music that was blaring from the car to muffle her screams. Tebok Clovis then drove the car to a banana plantation at Mile 18, near Muea, where he raped Henrietta.

After the dubious act, the driver abandoned her there in the plantation and went back to work. Luckily for the rape victim, she met a Police Mobile Intervention Unit who was on patrol as she came out of the plantation. The Police immediately launched a manhunt for the rapist and the latter was intercepted around the Mile 17 motor park 30 minutes later. Upon interrogation, the driver admitted his crime and was taken to the Buea Central Police Station while Henrietta was taken to the Buea General Hospital for medical attention.
