At one point, Julien ended up with a total of 284,000 CFAf and he no longer wanted to play on, but his friends insisted he continued. After a few hours of play, he had just 44,000 CFA left, then 14,000 and eventually nothing. At around 5am he asked one of his friends to lend him 1,000 CFA so he could return home.

However the winner, who had pocketed a rather large sum of money, didn’t take kindly to the request and a fight broke out between the two players, which quickly escalated into a brawl.
