Security Forces Dismantle Douala Gang

The three bandits were specialised in car theft in the economic capital.

Three suspects, Aboubakar Adamou a.k.a Bouba, Baba Ibrahim a.k.a Abah, Aboubakar a.k.a Aminou and Basile Tidje a.k.a Bachirou have been arrested after three months of police investigations. Judicial police began arresting the accused persons in the night of Monday until yesterday when the Basile Tidje was nabbed around Maképé, in Douala. They are being charged with stealing several cars.

The story goes that in the night of January 20 breaking 21 this year, the armed bandits attacked a certain Sebastien Kamgaing at his residence in Maképé, looting an undisclosed sum of money, cell phones and a car. The gang later attacked Marc Ateh in the night of February 4 breaking 5 at his Mbangue residence making away with FCFA 1.5 million, a car, a laptop computer and cell phones.

The anti-gang unit of the judicial police in Douala opened an investigation into the matter. Led by 2nd Grade Police Inspector, Boubakari, Police Inspector Bolo Bolo and Senior Police Constable Henry Mvoto, they succeeded to arrest the three bandits this week. The arrests also follow recurrent complaints from the population, now been relieved of the threats to their lives and properties.
