Seven individuals have been arrested for stealing a gun from a certain Oteta Ngan at the Ndokoti neighbourhood in the month of September, 2012. The suspects, Anicet Aurelien Doualla, Sylvain Mbongo Eboh, Alain Freddy Njoh, Armand Konguenti Fomekeu, Christophe Njoh, Aristide Lobe and Dominique Nomene were nabbed last week at Dikolo-Bonaberi in an uncompleted and abandoned building with a good quantity of cocaine and 15 packets of marijuana.

The story goes that in late September 2012, Anicet Aurelien Doualla stole the gun from the son of Oteta Ngan at Ndokoti. Oteta had left the gun in his house as he was out on a trip. When he returned, Oteta launched a complaint and the matter was handed over to the Head of the Littoral Regional Department of Public Security, Francois Xavier Minyem. The latter initiated a manhunt operation last Saturday, October 13, with a combat-ready team of the Rapid Intervention Unit which saw the seven armed thieves fall into the police dragnet in a broad daylight raid.

The dangerous gang was surprised in an uncompleted and abandoned building. In the surprised police raid, the armed thieves had no place to run to as the police also overpowered them. In their possession, two sachets of cocaine, 15 packets of Indian hemp, otherwise known as marijuana, two cocaine pipes and five mobile phones were found.

Questioned on the whereabouts of the gun, Anicet Aurelien Doualla declared that it was seized from the police during an operation in Ndokoti. A rapid search of his residence permitted the policemen to discover a sharp sword, a machete and a laptop carefully hidden under his mattress.

With all these items, the seven suspects were taken to the Regional Department of the Judicial Police in Bonanjo for further investigations.
