On the night of Wednesday breaking Thursday, unidentified gunmen made away with FCFA 5 million and a flat panel television from a company in the Douala port area that transports containers.
According to reports from elements of the 1st District Public Security Station who arrive at the scene shortly after the bandits had left, the gunmen tied up the company’s two night watchmen before carrying out the robbery.
The robbers used a giant iron cutter to force open the company’s main office where they easily collected the money and the flat screen. Sensing the arrival of the men-in-uniform, the robbers fled and left the giant iron cutter and two cutlasses at the scene.
It was only when the police arrived at the scene that the two night watchmen, Asong Donya and Kimo Cornelius were untied. Investigations have been opened.
