Tuesday 28th of August, 2012 was not a good day for two thieves in the Bokwoango neighborhood of Buea.
The two young men, in their twenties, stole the sum of FCFA 2.5 million from Mrs. Patricia Manka who also resides in the Bokwoango neighbourhood. Cameroon Tribune gathered from the victim that one of the thieves is her nephew.
Before stealing, the nephew and friend went to a native doctor to seek protection so as not to be caught after the crime. They paid the native doctor FCFA 670.000 francs and he reportedly gave them a concoction for protection. They spent the stolen money lavishly drinking beer in bars and womanising, hence arousing the aunt's suspicions.
Both were arrested by an angry mob and beaten. The culprits were forgiven by the victim after they had given everything in their possession.
