Hubert Touloy and Francis Nyamkam are in police custody at the 8th District Police Station in Douala for stealing 73 cartons of plates and dishes in a shop around ‘Trois Morts’ junction at the Bepanda neighbourhood.
According to the Commissioner of Police of the 8th District Police Station, Assoa Assoa Martien, the station received a distress call at about 3am on Monday September 22, informing about the robbery.
The Commissioner at once dispatched a patrol team to track the perpetrators. The police patrol team of the 8th District Police Station finally laid hands on the burglars at the ‘Non Glacé’ Market in the ‘Village’ neighbourhood at the Douala III metropolis.
While interrogating the driver of the vehicle bearing LT 529 CS, Hubert Touloy, and gang leader, Francis Nyamkam, they insisted they were business persons. When asked the receipts of the goods they were carrying, Hubert said he was just the driver and that the owner is still behind with the receipts.
When the atmosphere became tensed, they proposed FCFA 50,000 to the patrol team who rejected the offer and immediately took them to the 8th District Police Station where they are now paying for their action, meanwhile investigations have been opened.
