A woman in her thirties, is currently in custody at the premises of the Commissioner of the International airport of Douala.
A police source who declined to disclose the name of the woman, said the latter was about to board a Kenya Airways flight when at the checkpoint, the scanner revealed she was carrying some something "suspicious."
"We have submitted her to a thorough search, we found she was carrying a large sum of money in her bra. When we counted the total was nearly 55 million CFA francs," said a police source.
The same source is quick to point out that, taking abroad or bringing into Cameroon large sums of cash without declaring it to customs is a severely punished offense. "This is part of the strategies to fight against the laundering of dirty money."
