Mon, 8 Jul 2013 Source: Cameroon Tribune

It was late in the evening of July 6, 2013 at the Centre neighbourhood, precisely behind the Etoug-Ebe Handicap Centre, when Eric Wirba returned home from his workplace and was stabbed by Caciana, his 20-year old concubine. The 27-year-old man gave bread to his neighbour's child and his wife got angry.

At around 8 pm, Eric was watching television with Caciana in their one-room home when all of a sudden, he changed the channel and this made the wife angry again. She immediately took a knife and pierced Eric on the chest. As if that was not enough, she removed the knife from his chest, took another knife and did it the second time on the same spot. When the girl discovered the wrong she had done, she decided to inflict wounds on her arm in a bid to prove that they were fighting.

Before Eric was rushed to the Central Hospital by neighbours, he had his wife well-beaten for stabbing him. "The knife went right into my heart," said Eric before finally giving up the ghost at 1:00 am on Sunday July 7, 2013.

CT gathered from Mary, a neighbour that Caciana and Eric were always fighting. In such brawls, Caciana had always told the husband that she did not want to inflict wounds on him because she loved him. She also said that the ghost of her late twin sister still comes to disturb her and forbid the husband to say anything when he saw her misbehaving at night, explained Mary. Caciana and late Eric had been cohabiting for three months. Caciana who is reported pregnant, is currently detained at the Police Station in Melen for investigations.
