Historically Cameroon academics in Germany were never a serious take to write home with, probably because Germany didn´t bother to market big name academic institutions of the likes of Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford in USA and England respectively.

Nonetheless most Cameroonians who came to Germany for studies have always obtained their goals, defended their intellectual quotient, and earned respect and admiration from their host country and as well for themselves and their country Cameroon.

Records have it that even those who didn´t enter the country with a study visa, found their way to German academic institutions and graduated after haven regularized their stay.

Despite the much-propagated negativity of the language barrier, “impossible n´est Camerounais” it is said, Cameroonians have taken the bull by the horns and the academic flag of the nation flies at top mast.

In the last few years our own Sylvanus Ebot Agbor (S.E. Agbor), Freelance researcher, Author and Academic has been adding value, academic dignity and decorum to face-lift this academic aptitude in Germany.

He obtained a B.A (Hons) in Foreign Languages and Literature, majoring in French, from the University of Nsukka, Nigeria, he ventured into another world of Business and Management wherein he holds a series of management diplomas with distinctions in Communication in Business and Management; Advanced Study of Theory and Practice of Management; High distinction in Human Resource and Personnel Management and International Honours Graduate Diploma on Human Resource Development from Cambridge International College (CIC) in England.

After launching “Human Behavioral Patterns volume 1- The Case of Parents and Pre-University Students”, among other write-ups and publications, S.E Agbor just released volume two of his new book, titled “Society and Human Behavioral Patterns Volume 2- Academic Research Versus The Practical world”.

In Volume 1 of this series, the author, S.E Agbor employed his vast experience in the world of further education to look at the teenage student know-how both in personal relationships at University and out into the wider world.

Now, in Volume 2, he goes beyond to investigate what happens when these inexperienced young people set out on the road to becoming the parents, teachers and role models of the next generation.

The sometimes stormy road to personal maturity with all its pitfalls and trials is looked at analytically but never without compassion, across a wide spectrum of society from the most powerful to the humblest.

Child/parent relationships again loom large, as do the developments of relationships between young people that develop into lifelong unions.

Again we have a fascinating portrait of the growing into adulthood of a varied set of vibrant young people, all with their own particular strengths and weaknesses, and the repercussions for shaping of the society in which they are beginning to play important roles.

In his quest for the motives behind varied behavioural patterns of human beings, the author also tries to assess the relationship between academic research and the practical world.

A theme of all times; a book for everyone. This academic activity is simply echoed in the academic appraisal of Cameroonian academics by the German federal office of statistics; for example, with 5.783 immatriculation in 2012 and 6.016 immatriculation in 2013, Cameroon is ranked first (27.2%) as the largest group of all African students in Germany, seconded by Morocco followed by Tunisia in that order.

Cameroon is positioned 13th for foreign graduates in Germany. In 2013 for example 701 Cameroonians graduated with 41 promotions. Many graduated in Engineering (352), Mathematics and natural sciences (149), law, economics and social sciences (116). Germany can be said therefore to be an outstanding breathing ground for Cameroon academics and professionals abroad.
