Dating: The fashion of today

I am in a dilemma about writing on dating since I have qualms about writing this article and I also doubt the sanctity of dating. Dating which universally refers to having a romantic relationship with the opposite sex is a product of conventional wisdom.

However, I am yet to ascertain the undisputed biblical truth about dating since the evolution of dating appears to be unholy. This is because dating today exemplifies perversion which means that divine laws on relationship are always breached.

Moreover, notwithstanding the corrupt dynamics of dating, it is the best source of marital experience. If you are dating, you have a limited feel of the the institution of marriage which encourages you to prepare well for it.

Unfortunately, the rate of divorce in the world is on the rise though couples dated before their marital union. This shows that people blindly date because they simply follow the social trend of today.

And my little observation as a teenager shows that dating among contemporary teenagers has become a social requisite for teenage dignity. That is why many teenagers date anyhow at the expense of their moral progress, hence compromising their principles. Therefore, the agents and agencies of socialisation must teach the youth especially the teenagers who are minors how to date.

They should however, lay the emphasis on the elimination of sex in dating. And also explain that love, sacrifice, communication, trust, understanding, faith and honesty are key to the progress of every relationship.

For it is ludicrous to divorce later in marriage after having dated earlier! So it is our moral responsibility to build our relationships the divine way to guarantee us of divorce-free marriages in future.
