According to a press release the event was hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace sent to WIC, 75 – 80 per cent of wars occurred in the human history are due to religious conflicts.
Misunderstandings between different religions caused such disputes, but through interfaith peace dialogue, we can create change. Let us open our hearts and find what true peace is. I hope this will be a time for everyone to learn from each other,” the press release stated.
Peter Feldmajer, Vice president of Jewish organization Mazsihiszalso stated that “We are responsible for our family members and in a bigger scale for all the members of mankind. For this reason, the religious leaders have a special responsibility. They first have to protect the believers of their religions, and secondly as they work and lead the community they have to protect those who do not belong to their religions as well. By doing this, the hatred among us can be replaced with the message of love and peace”.
The World Alliance of Religions Peace (WARP) Office prevents the conflicts caused by religious misunderstandings and brings forth peace by gaining deeper understandings of the standards and teachings of each religion.
Peace offices that engage the local and regional communities of all religious are arising all over the world. HWPL provides a neutral platform in which proactive religious leaders who live for peace can take active steps in the peace-making process and positively influence their congregations.
This movement of interfaith peace dialogue began as a continuation of the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit attended by over 2,000 global leaders in Seoul, South Korea last September. Initiated by Chairman Lee of HWPL, the peace offices are bringing people of different faiths together to propose an effective way toward peace for all.
Currently, there are 35 WARP offices opened in 19 countries including but not limited to Los Angeles, New York City, Australia, Germany, Georgia, Mexico, Philippines, Myanmar, Nigeria, and Cameroon. By April, 10 more office meetings will be held in various regions in the world. The fruitful nature of these meetings shows promise and great growth in the near future.
