“They were all terrified when they saw him. But Jesus spoke at once, ‘Don’t be afraid, he said’ Take Courage’ I am here!” Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped! Mark 5:50-51
Jesus Christ was in the boat with his disciples when a huge storm blew towards them. Surprisingly they became tensed upon setting eyes on Jesus Christ walking on the water like a ghost before them. Courage is the ability to face danger without fear.
It took courage for Moses and Aaron to confront Pharaoh to tell him to free God’s children. “Pharaoh replied; “Moses and Aaron, why are you distracting the people from their tasks? Get back to work! “Exodus 1:4
There are people even till date who lack courage to stand against terrible happenings even when they have a rescuer in their boat. It saddens my heart to see Christians of today who cannot persists, persevere and endure especially when situations are being quite problematic. Instead of gathering courage, they become slaves to the situation then finally losses faith in the maker.
You need courage to face every situation. 1 Corinthians 16:13 says “Be on guard. Stand firm in faith. Be courageous and strong”.
However, for you to possess the courage Jesus Christ spoke about; you need to be a disciple in his boat and also allowing him to be in your boat as well. Here the boat used in this context represents two areas. These are Christ like life and your own life too. You need to pave way for the fruits of the spirit to regulate you and also learn to practice the knowledge of God’s authority over mankind.
Similarly, for you to have the courage so that Jesus Christ could be in the boat forever, the knowledge about the word of God and Jesus Christ must be of paramount importance. Irrespective of what happens, if you believe, Jesus Christ will be in your boat to calm down all the storms (difficulties) in your life.
Keep studying the word of God as you walk in truth and fellowship. There are always multiplied blessings, promotions, increases and advantages in such steps taken.
