Six people have been wounded in a fire outbreak provoked when lighting the gaz cooker in Ngangue. It is said the inflammable liquid had been oozing out and gradually overwhelmed the home.

With the lighting, fire immediately overshadowed the home with all six occupants in it. Burns sustained in the fire were further aggravated by pieces of the gaz cylinder which also exploded.

Victims, who were all family members including parents and children living in that Douala II Subdivision area, were rescued through timely efforts by close neighbours and other inhabitants of the neighbourhood.

They used both earth and sand to stop the fire. Also, a section of the building was broken in order to prevent the fire from crossing unto other homes.

The victims that were later transported to some health establishments in critical condition are said to have sustained third degree burns.
