Agricultural equipment handed to rural women in Ayos

The Honorary President of the network of women's associations of the town made this donation Monday in Mbakok.

Rural women in the Borough of Ayos, Department of Nyong-and-Mfoumou, celebrated the 19th edition of the world day dedicated to them Monday at Mbakok village about 30 km from Ayos.

The ceremony was chaired by the prefect of the Department, Charles Kamga. On this occasion, Olive Amba Salla, Honorary President of the network of women's associations of Ayos and the Nyong-and-Mfoumou accompanied by Charles Nkili, President of the collective of networks of women's associations of the Nyong-and-Mfoumou (Corafnym) gave them wheelbarrows, sprayers, machetes, Mills to crush, limes, watering cans and other.

Agricultural equipment which will enable them to continue to make their contribution in the fight against hunger and poverty, to ensure food security.

"Rural women are the nourishing breast of our cities. They participate in the nutritional development of their families. We invite them to pool their efforts to a plea, so that they participate in decision-making in Ayos', said Olive Amba Salla. On this occasion, Chris Nkili, also invited them to make a qualitative leap to turn all their business activities, in order to get out of poverty.

Rural women in this town took advantage of this rostrum to express their grievances: the poor state of roads which is a real obstacle to the flow of their food; the non-access to land, education, health care and appropriations.

The Honorary President made a promise to always support them through the implementation of agricultural projects. As for Olive Amba Salla, it's time for rural women of Ayos to think about the modernization of agriculture to conquer the markets of the country and even the subregion.
