The incident occurred recently during the change of command between the outgoing and incoming D.Os of Bagangte.

On Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Bangangte grandstand, the podium was full during the assumption of Joseph Andre Eyebe Eyebe as new D.O replacing Charles Gall. Oumarou Haman Wabi, the S.D.O of the Nde collapsed while reading his speech during the change of command ceremony between the D.Os.

“The microphone was positioned in front of the land chief who was apparently healthy. After two minutes, Oumarou Haman Wabi appeared to gradually losing his faculties. First, the good orator he was initially, gave way to another who had trouble articulating words. Then the flow of his voice started to decline, ” reported La Nouvelle Expression of Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

According to the newspaper, the land chief stopped his speech and completely collapse. “Fortunately, some people close to him prevented him to finish his fall on the ground. He was supported and led away by first aid givers. The latter strived to avoid the worst. ” He nevertheless continued the ceremony he presided until its term, although very weak.

Reporters at the said change of command ceremony immortalized the fall (hopefully not tragic) of the S.D.O. But they never exploited the images because “their devices were seized by the police and gendarmerie elements present,” we learn. “All cameras were seized. After a systematic control, concerned images were deleted before the devices were given back to its owners, “says a reporter.

Some devices that were difficult to operate by law enforcement forces were still confiscated in the afternoon of Monday, April 25, 2016. Journalists shout of intimidation of the press.
