Belgians tour Cameroon from North to South on bicycles

Scheduled for Thursday morning, a group of Belgian residents will discover Douala by bicycle. Arrived Wednesday night in the economic capital of Cameroon, these somewhat special tourists began a journey that will take place in large part on their bicycles through the southern and Northern Cameroon.

Designed by the Belgian Tourist office, the concept is exported and it regularly offers an expedition to distant countries of the flat country. The participants were selected in a competition on the antennae of vivacity, first radio channel in the Walloon and Brussels region.

Tuesday, the host and producer Adrien Joveneau, co-organizer of this bike journey, revealed that coming to Cameroon was somewhat an old dream. "I came to Cameroon in 1999 to register the portrait of a Belgian in the world, and I was flabbergasted by the beauty of the country, the diversity of its landscapes, its multicultural appeal, for fifteen years, I was dreaming to go back!", he said.

Hikers will also have in their caravan, Miss Belgium, Tatiana Silva, popular presenter of television in France and Belgium. The beautiful carries with her, the solidarity project backed by the bucolic walks from the cyclists.

Goodwill Ambassador of Unicef, committed from Handicap International, Ms. Silva carries in her suitcases of sports equipment, chairs, wheelchairs, for the underprivileged and refugee that travelers will meet on their way.

According to Yannick Noah, the visitors will see much that they lose nothing in Exchange to discover this "wonderful country", which Belgian media will talk about throughout the eight days of wanderings. And much later, in a souvenir book: "exciting Cameroon”.
