Elites and traditional authorities of the city of Nanga-Eboko, in the Upper Sanaga Division of the Central Region have made a passionate appeal to President Biya to respect tradition and handover the remains of their late daughter who happened to have been his mother-in-law to enable the people of Nanga-Eboko perform her final burial rites.

President Biya recently ordered that his late mother-in-law Mboutchouang nee Ndongo Mengolo Rosette Marie who originally hails from Nanga Eboko should be buried in his village in far away Mvomeka'a.

The said decision by the Cameroonian president has created too much tension with some elites and traditional authorities of the Central Region calling on the President not to proceed with burial arrangements slated for Mvomeka'a.

President Biya is reported to have breached all traditional burial norms of the Bantus, Semi Bantus including the Tikars as the late Mama Mboutchouang Rossette Marie was married at Bandekop in the Western Region from where she rose to the rank of Mayor of Bangou.
